We&#8217;re keeping this simple:&nbsp;<strong>Focus on providing three fundamental needs<\/strong>. Be prepared to provide them consistently\u2014even during the worst winter weather!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Helping your birds survive and thrive comes with rewards for all! &nbsp;Seeing healthy birds frequent your feeders and baths each day will be a joy. Your backyard birds can&nbsp;<strong>help you<\/strong> get through this winter, too!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food &#8211; Feeding Wild Birds During Winter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Maximize nutrition in your feeders.<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/thebackyardnaturalist.com\/wordpress\/portfolio-items\/wild-bird-seeds-suets-2\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Provide high calorie seeds and suet with essential protein, fat and carbohydrates.<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Food quality directly affects birds&#8217; ability to survive cold&nbsp;weather.<\/strong>&nbsp;Keeping warm takes extra calories! With fast-acting metabolisms, birds must be efficient eaters. Your bird houses offer songbirds, like Bluebirds, Chickadees, Titmice and Carolina Wrens (among others), safe places to keep warm and roost when weather is extreme.
