World Migratory Bird Day Celebration

Honor Moms of all species this Mothers Day weekend.

It’s the 100th anniversary of the International Migratory Bird Treaty Act. (More about the Treaty Act on our resource page here.) Our wild birds need its protection now, more than ever.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

Saturday, May 12th

Smithsonian’s National Zoo

Benjamin Banneker Historical Park & Museum

The National Aquarium

Lacey Woods Park

Saturday, May 13th

National Park Service Historic Bird Walks

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary

We hope you’ll enjoy this special weekend for us, too! We’ll be working hard here at the shop helping folks with their backyard habitats and choosing the perfect gift for Mom.
Happy Birding!
